If you are like many homeowners, you are probably wondering why pests love to invade your home. Pests can cause significant damage to your home and introduce illnesses. Because of this, you may want to know the common reasons pests try to make their way into your home and when to contact a technician for residential pest control Irvine. The following are reasons pests may want to enter your home:

    Moisture

Pests need water and often thrive in wet environments. Rats and roaches, in particular, are attracted to your home if there are still water and leaky pipes. Also, termites choose to feed on wood, which can suffer from water damage. Thus, excess moisture in your house may create the ideal environment for pests.

    Food Waste

Crumbs can attract pests into your house. Pests that enter your home are looking for sources of food and not cleaning food messes can make your home the perfect target for these unwanted visitors. To reduce the chances of having pests in your house, do not leave out leftovers or dirty diseases for a long time. All leftovers must be stored securely. This is also true when it comes to pet food. Also, when you clean up after each meal, do not forget to wash counter spaces and get rid of any crumbs.

    White Lighting

Did you know that bugs love lights? Your lights could be the reason you might be seeing flying critters, crane flies, moths, and beetles in and around your house. Such insects are drawn to white lights on your home’s exterior. So, consider changing your bulbs with a warmer koiusa temperature such as a yellow light, which does not attract insects.

    Brown Paper Bags

Usually, pests use the creases of these bags for hiding and laying eggs. They may even eat from these bags themselves and look for crumbs inside them detectmind . You can prevent this from happening by using reusable grocery bags instead. These are environment-friendly bags that roaches are less likely to use as breeding ground.

    Secondhand Furniture

Buying a leather couch for a low price can seem like a huge catch. However, critters can lodge themselves within furniture items. Once these bugs are inside, a lot of them lay eggs or eat away at the furniture. So, if you purchase secondhand furniture, ensure you inspect it thoroughly for signs of bug life such as eggs and droppings before you buy it. Make sure you don’t overlook the drawers and underneath the furniture.
