Ooty, the crown in the Nilgiri Hills in South India is a scenic getaway. Known as Udagamandalam, it was a summer retreat during the British Raj. The lush greenery in the background of the Nilgiris, the oldest mountains in the Western Ghats is an extremely sought-after tourist destination.
I decided to take a leisurely break with my family in this heavenly hill station from Delhi. The best way to reach Ooty is via Bangalore by air. Before I started my journey, I had already booked my travel with Thrillophilia. Truly, I am ever thankful that I did so. The Thrilophila tour package from Bangalore to Ooty is the best offer to accomplish a dream holiday.
Ooty situated at 2,240 meters above sea level is not just a hill station. Its natural beauty is visible in the smooth grasslands, lush tea gardens, lakes, streams and waterfalls around. One of the best parts of my tour package was the detailed and organized itinerary given by Thrillophilia. It calls for good thrillophilia reviews that I never had to worry about the must-visit places in Ooty nor the travel and boarding logistics of my trip. I could enjoy my tour. All rest was well taken care of.
My tour was booked from Bangalore. We reached Bangalore comfortably around noon. I was guided on where to stay in Bangalore so that our pick-up would be easy. By late evening, I and my family were picked up by the Thrillophilia representative from Domlur around 9.15 pm sharp. There were other pick-up points in case one is travelling in a bigger group. The travel was overnight in the AC Sedan that I pre-booked. I must say the vehicle was well-sanitized. All the details were taken care of by the Company.
We reached our hotel in the morning. It was a decent standard hotel with all amenities and was neat. One more thumb up in my thrillophilia reviews. The extent of care taken is seen in the fact that we were given a good time for freshening up before the day tour began. After a great breakfast, we headed for day 2 of the Ooty tour. Our driver was an experienced one who knew well about all places to visit and guided us accordingly at each step.
To begin with, I and my family were headed to the serene Ooty Lake. We took a boat ride on these calm waters and enjoyed the green cover all along. Surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and short shrubs, this artificial lake once built for fishing is enriched by its natural surroundings. We shopped for original Ooty chocolates in the lake vicinity. Later, I hired a bicycle and went around the entire area. My family took to horse riding near the lake. It felt like a child-like thrill. Simply rejuvenating.
It was now time for a joy train ride on this century-old toy train. This is not to miss attraction in Ooty. We travelled in the first class from Ooty to Mettupalayam and back through dense forests, colonial bridges and all the natural surroundings accompanied us. You just have to ride it to believe the experience.
With so much activity, it was now time to relax in the next venue, the Government Rose Garden. The fragrance of the blooms of about 20,000 varieties of roses is a visual delight. It is one of the most well-maintained gardens in India. I clicked away so many pictures in this most relaxing place.
We took a break for lunch and I must say in the Thrillophilia reviews that our driver took us to a very decent and reasonable food joint where we had a sumptuous lunch. It goes a long way to show their expertise in making your trip a very comfortable one. Soon after, it was time to climb up to the fourth highest peak in the Nilgiris hills, the Doddabetta peak at 2637 meters. The cool weather and the mist all around were scenic in themselves. I was lucky to catch a glimpse of the 360-degree view of the entire Ooty from this top point as the weather cleared up after a while. The high point and its peak are a must-visit on a trip to Ooty.
Day 3 of our tour was Sim’s Park, a garden with almost 3000 varieties of plants and flowers in one place. The climate of Ooty supports a flowering deluge that lasts longer. We got to see some unique species of plants here. We clicked many photos at this beautifully maintained place to cherish.
It was the sum-up of our Ooty trip and were ready to head back to Bangalore, the drop-off point. That too was a comfortable journey and I thank Thrillophilia profusely for making my trip etched in memory forever.
