Label your products like a pro: the ultimate guide to applying custom stickers and labels

    WilliamBy WilliamDecember 16, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

Are you struggling to create effective custom labels for your products? Do you feel like your custom stickers are falling off or not sticking properly? If so, read on for some tips that will help you apply your stickers perfectly every time.

    1. Clean the surface

First and foremost, it’s important to make sure the surface is clean before applying any stickers or labels. Dust, dirt, and other debris can get caught underneath the adhesive and create little bumps, which will make them less effective. Use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe down the area you plan on sticking your label on.

    2. Peel and position the sticker or label

Once the surface is clean and dry, it’s time to peel the backing from the sticker. Do this carefully to avoid leaving fingerprints on the vinyl, especially when you are working with clear labels. Then place the sticker in its desired position on the product or container. Make sure you line up the edges properly for a professional-looking label.

    3. Apply pressure

Most stickers and labels use a pressure-sensitive adhesive. That means that they stick once you press down on them. For the best result, start at the centre and apply pressure outwards. To ensure that your sticker or label adheres effectively, use your finger or a full palm to apply pressure evenly. This will help eliminate any bubbles or wrinkles in the sticker and make sure it sticks properly.

    4. Smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles

If you still notice any air pockets or wrinkles, use a credit card or something similar to gently smooth them out. Make sure you’re not applying too much pressure, or you could end up damaging the sticker or label. Instead, gently push them outwards one at a time.

    5. Wait for adhesive to set

And that’s all you have to do. Before you start using your product or container, we do recommend giving your sticker or label at least 24 hours to set and allow the adhesive to fully bond with the surface. This will ensure that it sticks properly and doesn’t come off easily.

With these five simple steps, you’ll be able to label your products like a pro in no time! Just make sure you take the time to prepare the surface beforehand and wait for the adhesive to bond before moving on – this will go a long way in making sure your stickers stay put for as long as possible. Happy labelling howitstart!
